Ryan Odom and the Virginia Cavaliers have added to their already well-decorated non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 basketball season. It was reported Tuesday evening that the Cavaliers will face off against the Arkansas Razorbacks in a neutral-site contest in the nation’s capital. Rocco Miller (@RocoMiller8 on X) had it first.
Virginia currently holds a 4-3 all-time series lead over Arkansas, with the last meeting between the two teams on November 20, 1998, when the Razorbacks claimed an 85-83 victory.
The Razorbacks suffered a couple of huge losses to the NBA draft this season in Darius Acuff Jr. and Trevon Brazile, but, to no one’s doubt, John Calipari was able to field an excellent roster coming into this season, making appearances in the top 15 in almost every preseason top 25 poll.
With the addition of Arkansas, Virginia is now due a matchup against the Razorbacks in Washington D.C., UConn in Madison Square Garden, at home against Old Dominion, at Maryland, and will take place in the Battle 4 Atlantis alongside Marquette, Texas A&M, Xavier, Mississippi State, Memphis, Penn State, and Wake Forest.
The Cavaliers’ full non-conference schedule is sure to be released in the coming days, as teams around the country have releasing their own. Even before the official release, one thing is for sure: Virginia will be battle-tested before it hops into conference play this upcoming season.
