Napheesa Collier is officially no longer the lead scorer for Minnesota after the entry of rookie Olivia Miles. Collier has been out for most of this season with ankle injuries and only recently made her return.
But it did not look like the Lynx crowd missed her very much since Miles has been doing plenty of hard-work in her absence. Miles has not just become the lead scorer of Minnesota, but has also shattered numerous records in her rookie season.
Meanwhile, fans could not help noticing the superb chemistry between Collier and Miles on the court. It seems like this bond did not develop overnight with Phee admitting that she had to do plenty of adjusting to get used to Olivia’s style of play.
“I think the biggest adjustment is Liv. Like, I’ve never played with a player like her before. I think our other players, like, I play with similar people. Like, we’re all very hardworking; we’re all very system-based. But just the way that Liv plays, like, she can attack in so many different ways. The way that she- her passing ability, things like that. I’ve never played with a player like that. So that is an adjustment.”Napheesa Collier said.

While Napheesa Collier did say that it was an adjustment at the end of the day to play alongside Olivia, she also admitted that the whole thing was fun to do. Strangely enough, rumors that Phee was unhappy with the Lynx and that she was jealous of Miles immediately started circulating on social media, even though the baller said nothing like this.
Napheesa Collier’s Rookie Teammate Gets MVP Nod From Many
On another note, Napheesa Collier’s rookie teammate seems to be already a major favorite in the MVP race for this season. Olivia Miles is already a shoo-in for the Rookie of the Year title and it looks like she is a strong candidate for MVP as well. Miles’ name has been tossed into numerous discussions for this title, along with A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark as well.
What is strange about this discussion is that Clark, who is often considered to be the face of the WNBA and commonly credited as among the top players in the league, has not been mentioned so frequently. Clark’s teammate Mitchell, on the other hand, has been a lot more frequently touted as an MVP candidate.
