When asked who would become a first-time All-Star on the Road Trippin’ Show‘s YouTube channel, Kendrick Perkins responded without hesitation, “Cooper Flagg“.
Cooper Flagg lived up to the hype in his 2025–26 rookie campaign with the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists across 70 games. He took home NBA Rookie of the Year honors and has already established himself as the centerpiece of Dallas’ future.
However, Richard Jefferson put forward Stephon Castle from the San Antonio Spurs.
Stephon Castle built on his rookie momentum with a breakout 2025–26 campaign for the San Antonio Spurs. Taking on heavy point guard duties, he averaged 16.7 points, 7.4 assists, and 5.3 rebounds over 68 games, helping steer San Antonio to a deep postseason run into the NBA Finals.
Out of the two, both have the potential to become NBA All-Stars this season, but given his rookie season, you would have to back Cooper Flagg.
