Drafted eighth overall in 2005, Channing Frye carved out a 13-year NBA career as a stretch-five, earning All-Rookie honors before winning an NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.
Moving into the media, he’s taken up a place on the Road Trippin’ Show alongside former NBA stars Kendrick Perkins and Richard Jefferson.
Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye played together on the Cleveland Cavaliers for two seasons (2015–16 and 2016–17), winning the 2016 NBA championship alongside LeBron James.
Kendrick Perkins had two separate stints with the Cavaliers (early 2015 and late 2018), overlapping briefly with Jefferson in early 2015 and with Frye in 2018, but never while all three were on the roster together.

Ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season, Channing Frye, Kendrick Perkins and Richard Jefferson got together on the Road Trippin’ Show YouTube channel to give some early predictions.
Frye was asked, “Who is going to be the mid-team in the NBA this season?”
His response: “Oh, who’s the worst team? The Kings.”
Before correcting himself and giving his mid-team pick: “Orlando’s going to be 8 and 10 again in the play-in again. They’re going to have shooting issues again.”
The Sacramento Kings stumbled through a brutal 2025–26 campaign under first-year head coach Doug Christie, finishing 22–60 and placing 14th in the Western Conference.
