In their final exhibition game of the preseason, the Wisconsin Badgers are facing off against the Oklahoma State Cowboys at the Kohl Center on Tuesday evening, with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
Thus far, Wisconsin has faced UW-Parkside and UW-Green Bay in exhibition games, winning 94-71 and 96-77, respectively.
In the first outing, the Badgers rolled out an 11-man rotation, going deep into their lineup as Nolan Winter led the team with 15 points and nine rebounds on 7 of 9 from the field. Transfer Eian Elmer added 14 points, while three others got into double figures: Owen Foxwell, Will Garlock, and Victory Onuetu.
Wisconsin also started Jack Janicki at shooting guard, which continued in the team’s second exhibition game, while Onuetu started at center with Austin Rapp still rehabbing.
In the second win, the Badgers were in a tight one at halftime, leading only 43-42 before breaking away for a comfortable win in the second half. Wisconsin went with an 11-man rotation in this one as well, only Austin Rapp rejoined the lineup, pushing freshman Jackson Ball to just four minutes.
Onuetu and Janicki got the starts again, while Wisconsin’s top starters played more minutes as they ramped up. This time, it was Foxwell who shined offensively, as the senior guard had 21 points and six assists, while having four steals defensively.
Janicki started, but played just 12 minutes, while Braeden Carrington played 17 minutes, Zach Kinziger played 19 minutes, and Trey Autry played 13 minutes off the bench.
Carrington had 20 points off the bench, hitting four threes, while Elmer, Onuetu, and Winter were all in double-figures as well.
Wisconsin will roll with the same starting lineup in this one with Foxwell, Janicki, Elmer, Winter, and Onuetu. We’ll see what trends change or continue here as the Badgers play their final exhibition game against Oklahoma State before starting the season next Monday against Denver.
