This is a short list of some of the most hated Duke players of all time. Each player has a specific reason why they are hated by the Carolina fanbase, but on a micro level, we all probably have someone that we hold a personal grudge against. Perhaps you were in the Dean Dome for the Austin Rivers shot. It’s possible that you were in Charlotte when Zion Williamson & Co. took down UNC in the ACC Tournament. Or maybe hearing Gerald Henderson’s name makes you want to break things because of what he did to Tyler Hansbrough’s nose.
There’s no doubt that Duke University has provided UNC fans with almost too many players to choose from when it comes to personal vendettas. One has to wonder if such a thing exists on the other side of the fence — I would be willing to bet that more of their fans than they will ever admit hate Caleb Love. How can you not after what happened in 2022? Perhaps Danny Green barreling a particular part of his body into Greg Paulus’ face makes a Blue Devil fan wish that Green’s pillow is warm for the rest of his life. It’s all in good fun, but of course, there’s an element of seriousness to it as well. What would be a rivalry if it wasn’t at least a little bit serious, right?
