We Have Times & Television Assignments For Marquette Men’s Basketball!

Iggy, the Marquette mascot, crossing Wisconsin Avenue on campus and pointing at the camera.

We got the Big East conference schedule for Marquette men’s basketball waaaaaaaay back on September 14th. It was almost so long that I was a quarter-convinced that we actually weren’t going to watch Big East basketball on TV this year.

ANYWAY, the Big East, in cooperation with their television partners at Fox Sports, NBC Sports, TNT Sports, and ESPN, announced the full television schedule for the 2026-27 men’s basketball season on Monday. Every single game governed by the league has been set with a tip-off time and a television network. Unfortunately for YOUR Marquette Golden Eagles, that means all but one of their regular season games is set now. The lone hold out is the visit to Michigan early in the season, because that game is part of the Big Ten’s television contract, and so we are waiting for their announcement there.

Let’s go straight to the chart and then we’ll break it down.

Yes, I put both of Marquette’s exhibitions on the board. No, we don’t have any kind of broadcast information on the Green Bay game, not even from GB’s side of things. Yes, the Michigan State exhibition at Fiserv is listed as “YouTube” on Marquette’s official schedule page. However, since they did not actually put out a press release for the announcement of TV assignments, we don’t have any further information to explain that other than just guessing that it’s MU’s YouTube page that they’re talking about.

With that explanation out of the way, let’s talk about what TV channels you need to have available to you to watch (almost!) every single Marquette this season.

Peacock: 9
TNT: 7
ESPN+: 6
FS1: 6
ESPN: 1
Fox: 1
SEC Network: 1

Basic cable or whatever your provider is will get you through 15 games for sure, maybe 16 depending on the status of SEC Network. Maybe 17 if the Michigan game eventually lands on FS1 or Big Ten Network.

However, there’s 15 games on pay services that aren’t a part of a cable package. If you don’t really care about the six buy games on the schedule, you can skip out on the ESPN+ games, but that does account for six of the first 11 games of the season. You’ll need Peacock for two — Missouri and Wisconsin — of the other five, and there’s a chance that the Michigan might land over there, too. The Peacock thing continues for four of the first five Big East games, and then it swings back around for three of the final seven contests, too.

In terms of start times, the Peacock thing actually does us a favor there. Because those are streaming only games, they can start at whatever time works best for the arena crowd, and so there’s a lot of relatively early start times there. There are two 8pm Central time starts all season long, both back to back, and both home games. I don’t know if the home game part is a good thing or a bad thing for you, but as someone who has to write a recap after getting home from the game, it’s not the best thing in the world for me. Alas.

Anything interesting about the TV schedule jump out at you? Fire away in the comments.
