So a lot has happened in the last week.
We got a Georgetown official roster online, the Hoyas went down to Winston Salem and dismantled Wake Forest in a scrimmage AND just yesterday the Big East released the TV broadcast info for the season. I’m still old enough to remember when not every game was available to watch.
Yes, such a time did exist. Luckily we had and still have Rich Chvotkin on the radio call.
With the Clemson game still TBD, here’s the Hoyas network/streaming service breakdown:
As expected Georgetown – picked to finish 10th in the conference – is not featured in many big FOX games. The Hoyas got just one of those games which will come on Black Friday against either UCLA or St. Mary’s. The time and opponent are dependent on what happens in the semifinals of the Rady Children’s Invitational on Thanksgiving in San Diego.
Georgetown will have big time Saturday night home game against Maryland on Nov. 7 at 7:30 pm on Peacock.
The Hoyas won in College Park last year and will try to beat the Terps in consecutive games since winning three straight from 1978-80.
The Hoyas one other Saturday night contest at Capital One Arena will come later in the season on Jan. 23 against Ed Cooley’s former team – Providence, which is now led by former Hoya Malik Mack. Tip time set for 6 PM on FS1.
The big takeaway with yesterday’s broadcast release is there is no running away from streaming services. You really need Peacock for a lot of the better opponents – Maryland, UNC, at UConn, at St. John’s – while you need ESPN+ if you want to watch all of the early season buy games – Loyola, MD, Delaware State, etc.
