Texas A&M (19-8, 9-5) is now on a two-game winning streak after defeating Oklahoma 75-71 on the road, led by senior forward Rashaun Agee’s 18 points and seven rebounds, combined with Rylan Griffen’s 14 points, while the Aggies shot an efficient 44% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc.
Four players scored at least eight points, including forward Zach Clemence, whose nine points, five rebounds, and four assists were critical, as the Kansas transfer has continued to provide plus minutes off the bench and has now scored 52 points in the last four games.
Overall, the Aggies played much better on defense despite losing the rebounding battle 44-39, making important stops down the stretch, forcing the Sooners into tough shots, and did not allow the home team to tie or take the lead on several shot attempts near the rim.
Earning its fourth Quad 1 win, Texas A&M has not only improved to 9-5 in conference play, but has also moved off ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi’s Last Four In line, and is back in the field, likely as a 9-seed, thanks to the back-to-back victories after losing four consecutive games. For first-year coach Bucky McMillan, this was an “old school win” by his veteran group.
