In another announcement outside of Villanova, the Wildcats are confirmed to be facing off against Fairleigh Dickson towards the end of the non-conference slate.

A year ago, the Knights finished with an 11-21 record (8-10 in NEC play), which was good for sixth in the conference. Fairleigh Dickinson lost to Mercyhurst 70-61 in the quarterfinals of the Northeast Conference tournament. Most people may remember FDU from its 16 vs 1 win over Purdue in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The Knights are led by head coach Jack Castleberry, who took over for Tobin Anderson in the 2023-24 season.

The addition of Fairleigh Dickinson to the out-of-conference schedule leaves Villanova with ten confirmed games:

  • Home against Coppin State, FDU, Michigan, La Salle
  • Away against Pittsburgh, Kansas, Temple
  • Neutral sites against Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Big 5 Classic

There will be at least one more game scheduled, and the team should be announcing the schedule in its entirety any day now.
