After VCU abruptly sent North Carolina home from the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, many wondered if coach Hubert Davis would survive the commotion of another bad end to the season. Even with star freshman Caleb Wilson going down and not available, the Tar Heels gave their best effort.
Don't tell any of this to VCU's band director, who pulled off one of the greatest troll jobs in tourney history. He graced the floor in Greenville wearing the famed No. 23 Michael Jordan UNC jersey to perform his duties' courtside. It was clear he still had the upset on his mind as the Rams took on another ACC power in Virginia.
The CBS broadcast caught the moment with Ian Eagle and the crew giving a great narration of it all.

However, VCU couldn't survive against UVA on Saturday night, falling 67-55 and ending their tournament hopes. The Rams would've been the second 11th-seeded team to advance with Texas pulling out the stunner over No. 3 Gonzaga.

As for Davis, UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham said he'll make a decision on the future of the program in the coming days. UNC has been successful during his tenure, just not in the postseason, which has been slowly tipping toward others in the ACC. This is not what Roy Williams had envisioned when he handed the program over five years ago.
