USC Trojans and head coach Eric Musselman landed a commitment from former UConn Huskies center Eric Reibe on Monday. The 7-foot-1 freshman transfer arrives after one season with a Final Four program, ready for a bigger role.

Reibe, a former McDonald’s All-American and top-25 recruit in the 2025 class, averaged 5.9 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 65.8% from the field across 40 appearances. He played 13.8 minutes per game in a reserve role behind Tarris Reed Jr., but stepped into the starting lineup for five games during Reed’s early-season absence. In those starts, Reibe produced 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game on 65% shooting.

Among his best games were a 15-point effort against No. 4 Arizona on Nov. 19 and a career-high 16 points against Bryant. However, Reibe’s role reduced once Reed returned, and foul trouble limited his impact late in the season. During the NCAA Tournament, he averaged just 6.7 minutes over six games and did not score in the Final Four.

Reibe, who has three years of eligibility remaining, replaces outgoing Trojan center Gabe Dynes, who entered the transfer portal. He becomes USC’s second portal addition alongside former Georgetown Hoyas men’s basketball guard KJ Lewis.

The addition boosts the Trojans’ 2026 transfer class ranking to No. 27 nationally and fourth in the Big Ten, according to 247Sports. Reibe joins a frontcourt that includes Jacob Cofie, who averaged 9.9 points and 6.8 rebounds last season.

USC’s roster also features returning guard Rodney Rice, who averaged 20.3 points and 6.0 assists in six games before a shoulder injury, and Alijah Arenas, who scored 14.1 points per game in 14 appearances. Incoming freshmen, including five-star Christian Collins and four-stars Adonis Ratliff and Darius Ratliff, further strengthen the roster.

With multiple additions and returning production, the Trojans are targeting its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2023 and their first under Musselman in the 2026-27 season.
