Twitter Gold: Flory Bidunga’s Return To Kansas Was Memorable, But Probably For The Wrong Reasons

For the most part, college basketball fans have adapted to the portal era reasonably well, and when players leave, they generally understand that they are leaving for better opportunities. And ultimately, everyone understands that, because everyone wants that for themselves.

However, it’s not universally true, and it definitely wasn’t true when Louisville visited Kansas. Why?

Because former Jayhawk Flory Bidunga is now playing for the Cardinals, and while Bill Self seemed pleased to see him, the Kansas fans were definitely not.

Chants of “Fuck You, Flory!” welcomed Bidunga back to Phog Allen Fieldhouse. Was it the nicest thing they could have done? Obviously not.

Did Bidunga care? Maybe, but he’s making anywhere from $2.9 million to $3.9 million more at Louisville. We’re just guessing here, but all those fans who booed Bidunga would be more than happy to get a raise like that.

Self appealed to the crowd briefly, then got a disgusted look on his face, and apologized to Louisville coach Pat Kelsey.

Bidunga got the last laugh though, as Louisville won, 89-83.
