TNT Sports has hired former North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis as a college basketball studio and game analyst, the company announced Tuesday. He will primarily cover the Big East and Big 12 conferences.
Davis previously worked in television as an analyst for ESPN from 2007-12 before returning to UNC as an assistant coach under Roy Williams. His agreement with TNT Sports is expected to be a multi-year deal, according to Sports Business Journal’s Austin Karp, and he is due to make his first in-studio appearance Nov. 5.
After working as an assistant at North Carolina, Davis then took over the program in 2021 after Williams’ retirement and took the Tar Heels to the national title game in his first season. UNC missed the NCAA Tournament the next year, though.
After a Sweet Sixteen berth in 2024, the Tar Heels lost in the first round in both 2025 and 2026. That led the school to make a change following a loss to VCU after a 19-point deficit disappeared in the second half.
