Following last year’s event in Knoxville, Tennessee and Duke will run it back in Durham. The game was officially announced on Wednesday afternoon, with the contest set for October 20th in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Start time and TV information have yet to be set. Tennessee hasn’t been to Cameron Indoor since 1975.
Duke got the better of the Volunteers in last year’s unofficial scrimmage, winning 83-76. Cameron Boozer scored 24 points and posted 23 rebounds to go along with six assist in his first official welcome to college basketball.
Both teams will be welcoming in ton of new face with a chance to build some chemistry in a game that will have a big-time feel. The Blue Devils will be working in Wisconsin transfer John Blackwell, along with freshman guard Deron Rippey Jr. Tennessee will be getting Juke Harris, Terrence Hill Jr., Jaylen Haralson and Dai Dai Ames going as Rick Barnes makes a big shift to a more offense-first threat.
College programs can now schedule up to three exhibition events before the season begins, which is a development that Barnes has taken advantage of with big matchups against Gonzaga, Duke and Purdue in previous seasons.
Tennessee will open the season officially on November 3rd against Wofford.
