The Tennessee Volunteers’ 2026-27 men’s basketball season should be an exciting one, and now fans know exactly, who, when, and where the Vols will play their non-conference action.
The program revealed its non-conference slate, which gets underway on November 3 at home against Wofford.
The Vols have a pair of headliners in the Big Ten in the non-conference, with the Vols’ getting Michigan State on the road at the Breslin Center on November 17 after a trio of home warmup games.
Then, after back-to-back ACC games against Florida State (SEC-ACC challenge) and NC State, the Vols will take on their true nemesis in the Purdue Boilermakers on December 11 in West Lafayette, Indiana. For those of us who have watched Purdue rip Tennessee fans hearts out for the last several years in multiple sports, that’s one to circle on the calendar for sure.
Tennessee is also participating in the Players Era Tournament in Las Vegas. The Vols will for sure face Maryland and the winner of Iowa State/San Diego State.
It should be a big year for Tennessee basketball with Wake Forest transfer Juke Harris on the roster, among several others, and there will be plenty of chances for some notable early season wins for Rick Barnes’ squad.
