The Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team will be spending its Thanksgiving week in the Caribbean.
Syracuse will compete in the Discover Puerto Rico Shootout, along with Southern, Wisconsin, and Auburn, the program announced. The Orange will play in three straight games as part of the multi-day, round-robin tournament.
The action begins on Wednesday, November 25, with Syracuse opening the Puerto Rico Shootout against Southern. Tip-off is at 11 a.m. EST. It then plays Wisconsin on Thanksgiving Day and concludes with Auburn on Friday, November 27. The Wisconsin and Auburn matchups begin at 1:30 p.m. EST and 11 a.m. EST, respectively.
The whole tournament will be played at the Guillermo Angulo Coliseum, located just east of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Syracuse’s opponents at the Puerto Rico Shootout will all be relatively new. It will be the first time the Orange have ever faced Southern and the second time playing against Wisconsin. Syracuse will also match up with Auburn again after the two schools clashed in the 2026 ACC/SEC Challenge. The Orange won 66-60 in overtime at home, their first win in six tries all-time against the Tigers.
Syracuse also announced that the annual School Day game will be against Bucknell on December 18th.
The announcement also brings the total number of confirmed non-conference games on the Orange’s schedule up to ten. Besides the Bison and the three teams in the Puerto Rico Shootout, Syracuse’s non-con schedule includes Sacred Heart, Cornell, Siena, Canisius, Oklahoma, and LeMoyne.
