Schedule Intel: Longhorns Incoming?

It’s a bit early, and nothing has been signed yet, but Texas coach Sean Miller says the Longhorns are close to scheduling a game with Duke next season.

The teams last played in 2025-26 in Charlotte.

Intriguingly, he says that the game might be played internationally, with Miller saying “[w]e’re going to play Duke, we’re going to play them on a neutral court. It’s really yet to be decided where. Maybe in Mexico City, maybe in Chicago, but that’s something also different for our fan base to understand.”

Fair enough. Duke fans are pretty used to it, though. Former coach Mike Krzyzewski scheduled neutral court games frequently, something he started when Duke’s notoriety made campus matchups less than ideal (for example, we can point you to Duke’s visit to LSU on February 8, 1992, when Tiger fans chanted “Faggot! Faggot! Faggot! Faggot!” and a rhythmic “homo-sex-ual!” chant with a tomahawk-chop-style gesture).

Scheyer, to his credit, has scheduled more games not just in Cameron, but at places like Arkansas and Florida, and Michigan State.

Still, playing a tough opponent like Texas in a place like Mexico City?

That would be pretty cool, both for the teams and for the game.
