Rhode Island men's basketball loses at George Washington. Here's how

Despite the return of Jonah Hinton to the lineup, the University of Rhode Island men's basketball team couldn't overcome George Washington's size, falling to the Revolutionaries 75-70 on Tuesday, Feb. 10. in Washington, D.C.

George Washington center Luke Hunger led the hosts with 21 points as the Revolutionaries scored 40 points in the paint, dropping URI's record to 14-10 overall, 5-6 in Atlantic 10 play. The Rams were down by as much as 17 points (35-18) early in the second half, but battled back to within four points as Tyler Cochran scored 11 points to lead an 18-6 run for the Rams.

Tyler Cochran, shown in a January game, led URI with 24 points in Tuesday's loss at George Washington.

But GW would answer every Rhody run, with Hunger, Garrett Johnson (17 points) and Tyrone Marshall (15) pacing the Revolutionaries (14-11,5-7), and snapping their four-game losing streak.

Cochran led Rhode Island with 24 points, his eighth straight double-digit game. Myles Corey added 20 points and three rebounds, and Hinton returned after missing the last three games with an ankle injury. He had seven points in 21 minutes off the bench. But the Rams were without Jahmere Tripp, who suffered an injury the day before the game.

The Rams shot 45% from the field and went 10-of-17 from the free-throw line. GW shot at a 48.2% clip, and hit 14-of-20 foul shots.
