Oregon men’s basketball has lost its starting point guard.
Jackson Shelstad, whose 2025-26 junior season was limited to 12 games because of injuries, is entering the transfer portal, according to On3.
Shelstad was an in-state star and two-time Oregon Gatorade player of the year at West Linn High School when he signed with the Ducks in 2023 as part of a recruiting class that included five-star prospects Kwame Evans Jr. and Mookie Cook.
All three players are now gone, as Evans is also entering the transfer portal when it opens on April 7, and Cook transferred to San Francisco in 2025.
Shelstad had been Oregon’s point guard since early in his freshman season. He started 77 of the 79 games he played in for the Ducks, including all 12 this past season. But a broken right hand sidelined the preseason all-Big Ten selection in October and early November. He returned to play 12 straight, but suffered a different injury to his right hand in late December and missed Oregon’s last 19 games.
He was averaging career-highs in points (15.6) and assists (4.9) before his season ended. In his Oregon career, Shelstad averaged 13.6 points and 3.0 assists.
Unless he can get a medical redshirt after missing most of 2025-26 with injuries, Shelstad will have one season of eligibility remaining with his new team.
