The 2026 NCAA Tournament got underway with some upsets in the Round of 64 on Thursday.
No. 12 High Point stunned No. 5 Wisconsin, and No. 11 VCU pulled off a historic comeback to top No. 6 North Carolina in overtime.
And, No. 1 Duke was very close to losing to No. 16 Siena, so there were a lot of thrilling games on Thursday.
No. 1 Michigan had no issues with No. 16 Howard, as the Wolverines cruised to a 101-80 win to advance to face No. 9 Saint Louis in the Round of 32.
Michigan, just like every team, has flaws, and ESPN's Jeff Borzello polled 25 scouts and coaches about the Wolverines' biggest flaw.
"Like Duke, Michigan's biggest issue entering the tournament is an injury. Cason suffered a season-ending torn ACL in late February, and while he technically came off the bench, he was a game-changer for Dusty May's team," Borzello wrote.
Cason only averages 8.4 points per game with 2.4 assists, but he is a spark off the bench for Dusty May.
Michigan Is Beatable
Obviously, every team in the field is beatable. After all, who picked Fairleigh Dickinson to knock off Zach Edey and Purdue a few years ago?
Michigan has three losses all season, with Wisconsin, Duke and Purdue as the lone teams to hand the Wolverines a loss.
But, one Big Ten coach told Borzello the weakness for Michigan, and a way to beat them.
"It's consistent perimeter shooting and then on the defensive end, that's the one thing they're susceptible to," a Big Ten coach said. "You got to be able to make 3s against them. If they give up 12 3s in a game and they only make seven, which can happen, that's a 15-point swing against a good team in an NCAA tournament game."
Michigan is in the Midwest Region with No. 2 Iowa State, No. 3 Virginia and No. 4 Alabama, and it was a favorable draw.
The question is this: Can Dusty May lead Michigan to a Final Four?
