The bracket is out and we have seen the path the Michigan State Spartans Men’s Basketball Team must try to conquer. We did not have to wait long to see our name during the Selection Show as we ended up as the 3-seed in the region of top overall team, Duke. MSU will begin the tournament on Thursday in Buffalo when we take on the 14-seed North Dakota State Bison. The Bison won both the regular season and tournament in the Summit League.

Per FanDuel, the Spartans are favored by 16.5 points, and the over/under is set at 143.5. If Michigan State can get past the Bison, the East Region is arguably the toughest in this year’s bracket. The top four teams in the East have the lowest combined overall seeding than any of the four regions. In addition to #1 Duke, the region is loaded with blue bloods; #2 UConn Huskies and #4 Kansas Jayhawks also loom as potential future opponents, as does #7 UCLA, the team that knocked us off in the Big Ten Tournament. We could see the Bruins in the Sweet 16 if we both make it out of the opening weekend.

Stay tuned to The Only Colors for more coverage to get you ready for our game on Thursday. And the TOC Bracket Pool will be posted tomorrow.

Let the madness begin!
