It’s safe to say Mark Mitchell is very interested in playing for Kentucky Basketball next season.

Ever since Mitchell decided to push for one more season of college hoops, Kentucky has been the school getting the most buzz to eventually land his services. And after being granted a TRO on Friday for a fifth season of eligibility and the ability to enter the transfer portal, Mitchell can speak directly to the Wildcats coaching staff.

Now, KSR’s Matt Jones reports that Mitchell has applied to the University of Kentucky admissions office. This is a big step in getting Mitchell cleared by the school to enroll and play for the men’s basketball team next season.

Of course, this doesn’t mean it’s a done deal, as players can apply to whichever school they like. But if nothing else, it shows that Kentucky is a school Mitchell is strongly considering when the 2026-27 season tips off.

Now, we wait to see if Mitchell has the necessary credits to transfer to Kentucky.
