Villanova held its annual Summer Jam practice on Monday. This gave fans a chance to see clips of the team and receive updates on important topics.
The only thing missing was Luigi Suigo. He had not made it to campus yet but that changed quickly.
On Tuesday, assistant coach Ricky Harris shared a picture with Suigo after he arrived in Philadelphia. We have not seen Suigo take the floor yet but seeing him on campus should get you excited for what’s to come.
Suigo became the final piece to a successful offseason for Kevin Willard and the Wildcats. He kept his name in the NBA Draft for as long as possible before withdrawing and selecting Villanova. Even before it became official, it felt as though the Wildcats were in the league for the Italian big man.
The future NBA lottery pick is likely to be a one-and-done player for Villanova this winter. He joins other transfers including Kwame Evans Jr. and Devin Royal, who are expected to step into the starting lineup and bring size to Villanova. At 7-foot-3, Suigo brings a presence that Villanova has not had.
It’s not basketball action, but it’s official. Suigo is a Wildcat and he is on campus.
