Louisville is entering a new sponsorship space ahead of the 2026-27 basketball season. The school announced a multi-year partnership with Ripple, a blockchain-based enterprise solutions company, that will bring XRP branding to Louisville men’s and women’s basketball beginning this season.
As part of the agreement, the XRP logo will become a permanent fixture on Denny Crum Court for every Louisville home game at the KFC Yum! Center. The branding will be incorporated alongside the court’s existing design, while Crum’s signature insignia will remain inside the 3-point arc.

“Ripple was very intentional about aligning with premier basketball brands, and we’re proud that Louisville was one of the programs they identified,” Louisville vice president and athletic director Josh Heird said in the school’s release.
Continuing, Heird said the partnership reflects both the national reach of Louisville basketball and the changing business landscape across college athletics: “As college athletics continues to evolve, we want to align with partners who recognize the value of what Louisville represents while respecting the history that helped build it. This partnership does both.”
Meanwhile, the deal extends beyond the playing surface. According to Louisville, XRP branding will also appear on television-visible courtside signage and through additional promotions inside the KFC Yum! Center. The partnership will include Louisville’s digital and social platforms, along with radio broadcasts for both the men’s and women’s basketball programs.
Ripple will also provide financial and technology education opportunities for Louisville student-athletes and members of the campus community. Those initiatives will include education surrounding both traditional finance and digital assets.
XRP is a cryptocurrency that has been in use since 2012 and is designed to help facilitate financial transactions quickly and efficiently. Learfield helped bring the agreement together.
“Louisville is among the most respected programs in college basketball, providing an extraordinary platform for brand partners to engage fans not only locally, but on a national scale,” Learfield president of sports properties Kim Damron said.
The sponsorship arrives as Louisville continues preparing for another season under head coach Pat Kelsey. The Cardinals have remained active with their roster ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, recently adding Northern Kentucky transfer forward LJ Wells. Wells averaged 15.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game last season before making the move to Louisville.
Former North Carolina guard Seth Trimble has also joined the program as Louisville continues adding veteran options amid an evolving eligibility landscape across college basketball. Now, the Cardinals are making changes off the floor as well.
Beginning this season, XRP branding will be visible throughout Louisville basketball’s home environment, with the company becoming one of the program’s most prominent corporate partners. We’ll see if it helps lead to sustained success for the program.
