Some Boston Celtics fans seem interested in a Kyrie Irving reunion.
According to HoopsHype, the nine-time All-Star has been involved in 3.6 percent of all trades built on HoopsMatic's trade machine over the past 24 hours.
Irving's top destinations? The Miami Heat (24.1 percent), Celtics (14.8 percent) and Orlando Magic (13.0 percent).
The spike in Irving trade ideas comes amid a report from NBA insider Marc Stein that rival teams "continue to wonder aloud" whether the Dallas Mavericks will keep their word of wanting to retain the point guard.
Irving's time with the Celtics lasted just two seasons. While he earned two All-Star selections in a Celtics uniform, Boston fell short of the championship expectations surrounding the team.

Irving left the Celtics as a free agent in 2019 to join forces with Kevin Durant on the Brooklyn Nets. It's safe to say that he wasn't the most popular person in Boston when he left.
Irving missed all of the 2025-26 season with an ACL injury, but he's still one of the NBA's best point guards at 34. The last time we saw him, he averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists while shooting 40.1 percent from 3-point range in 50 games during the 2024-25 season.
Irving still has two seasons remaining on his current contract, including a $39.5 million salary for 2026-27 and a $42.4 million player option for the 2027-28 season. The Celtics could get into Irving's salary range using Paul George's contract or by building a package around Derrick White and some combination of Mitchell Robinson, Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard.
There's currently no reporting linking Irving to a Celtics reunion, but it seems as though some fans want it to happen.
