At 37, Kevin Durant is still holding his own with the best in the league, coming off another solid season where he kept racking up 26 points a night, despite injuries.
But these days, his moves off the court are drawing just as much noise. Through his business board 35V, KD has turned into a serious player in tech and sports. That early $250,000 bet he placed on AI startup Hugging Face has paid off, soaring past a $60 million value after NVIDIA stepped in.
Factor in his stakes in Paris Saint-Germain and the Philadelphia Union, and it’s clear KD’s setting himself up for a second act beyond basketball.
Kevin Durant has no immediate retirement plans
At 37 years old, Kevin Durant is entering the home stretch of his hall-of-fame career, fully aware that retirement talk is growing louder.
Speaking to the Boardroom YouTube channel, Durant was asked about his playing situation after talking about Russell Westbrook’s NBA retirement this season.
“I mean, it’s a young man’s game, you know, as you even though I still feel like I can play, you always hear, “Oh, you’re 38, you know, you’re 39, you know, you getting up there.” So, yeah, I get that. Um, but I put everything into the game and I’m cool with whatever happens as I move forward. I’m going continue to put everything into the game until I can’t no more.”
Kevin Durant is locked in with the Houston Rockets, signing a two-year, $90 million extension. Making nearly $44 million for this season, KD remains the core veteran force for a rising Rockets squad.
