The Iowa Hawkeyes took a stumble on the road against the UCLA Bruins, who are bona fide national title contenders, and very much have a case as the best team in the country in women’s college basketball. It’s not a loss that wrecks the season or throws things sideways, but does send Iowa back to the drawing board.
Still, Iowa is not going anywhere regarding the NCAA Women’s Tournament. They are as close as one can get to making the field, barring a catastrophic collapse down the stretch. Sitting at 18-4 overall, Iowa is playing for seeding at this point.
With a chance to regroup and get right with many more opportunities coming up, the Hawkeyes can continue to march towards locking up being a host site in the NCAA Tournament, as the latest ESPN March Madness bracketology shows.
