Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell have both emerged as legitimate WNBA MVP candidates during the Indiana Fever’s strong 2026 campaign. Clark has returned to the form that made her one of the league’s biggest stars, while Mitchell has continued her remarkable scoring consistency. The Fever entered Friday at 25-14 and fifth in the WNBA standings, with both guards playing major roles in the team’s success.
The debate became even more compelling after Indiana’s 113-90 win over the Chicago Sky. Clark exploded for 37 points and 10 assists, including a career-high eight 3-pointers, while Mitchell scored 30 points and extended her WNBA-record streak of games with at least 20 points to 23. Their performances have made the Fever the only team with two players receiving serious MVP consideration.

“I think any of them deserve it, for sure,” Hull said after Thursday’s practice. “I think for us, it just shows the success of our team. I think all of them can tell you, they’re just such big team players; they’ll do whatever that we need for our team to win and it’s showing up on the stat sheet for sure… and I think that we’ll be so happy, the city will be so happy and our fans will be so proud.”
Clark leads the league in assists and ranks third in scoring. Mitchell, meanwhile, has the second-best scoring average this season and is currently the league’s third-best scorer from beyond the arc.
Mitchell was also a finalist for MVP last season after carrying much of Indiana’s offense while Clark missed most of the year due to injury.
With five games remaining, the Fever are positioned for another postseason run, and Hull believes either teammate should win the MVP award this year.
