Former UConn men’s basketball center Eric Reibe has announced his commitment to transfer to the University of Southern California on Instagram.

The four-star freshman from Germany was a key piece off the bench for the Huskies. behind Tarris Reed Jr. He averaged 5.9 points on nearly 66% from the field and 3.3 rebounds in 40 appearances at UConn.

Reibe started in five games earlier this season when Reed missed time due to injury. The most vital of those nods came on Nov. 19, when No. 4 Arizona came to Storrs for a heavyweight matchup. The 7-1 center scored 15 points and buried a pair of triples down the stretch.

His career high of 16 points came in the following matchup against Bryant. However, he couldn’t match those numbers once Reed returned from injury.

Reibe struggled during the month of March as foul trouble often sent him back to the bench. During the NCAA Tournament, he averaged just under seven minutes a game, partly due to the fouls, and didn’t find the bottom of the net during the Final Four.

The UConn experience wasn’t for Reibe and he now looks to be the focal point for the Trojans.
