
In the latest edition of the Brotherhood Podcast, Caleb Foster is back in the captain’s chair, and he’s hosting freshman Cameron Williams and junior Patrick Ngongba.
They start off talking about what they’re doing to get ready, and Ngongba reveals that he’s still in recovery mode after his late-season injury last spring. Williams, not surprisingly, talks about what he’s doing to get ready for his first college basketball season.
At the time, when Duke made the decision to let players essentially present themselves, it was kind of revolutionary. Prior to that, programs liked to have a presenter, an interlocutor, someone to control the ebb and flow of what was said.
That Duke just turns this over to the players and trusts them to be smart and to handle themselves well is just great. If any recruits read this, consider how Duke treats its players with respect and trust. It’s one of the defining characteristics of the program that you’ll be happy about.
