The No. 1-ranked Michigan Wolverines added yet another statement win to their nation's best resume on Tuesday, defeating No. 7 Purdue 91-80 on the road at Mackey Arena.
The win expanded the gap between Michigan and its closest Big Ten competitors. With just four games left in the conference schedule, the Wolverines are in firm control of the race for the regular-season title.
That standing doesn't mean the season will end without drama. A tight race exists for the coveted double-bye slots in the Big Ten Tournament. Then, as is the case every season, several teams still need statement wins to get off the NCAA Tournament bubble.
