KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Phillips 66 Big 12 Basketball Championships returns this week, bringing thousands of college basketball fans to downtown Kansas City.
The Big 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament took place last week with West Virginia winning the Big 12 Championship.
The men’s event, which features a 16-team tournament format will run from March 10 -14.
Last year’s tournament attracted more than 106,000 fans over the course of the week.
For the first time, a full LED glass basketball court will be used in official competition.
The high-tech glass court, previously showcased at NBA All-Star Weekend 2024 and international competitions, allows real-time digital graphics, interactive fan games, animated replays, shot charts and dynamic branding directly beneath players’ feet.
Officials say it meets modern hardwood performance standards and has been vetted for athlete safety.
The Men’s tournament tipped off Tuesday with No. 12 Arizona State defeating No. 13 Baylor 83-79.
No. 15 Kansas State will play No. 10 BYU at 6 p.m. and No. 3 Kansas will play the winner of Game 8.
Single-session tickets are available. Prices start at $20 per session for men’s games.
