Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever defeated Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream when they met over a week ago on Aug. 16. Clark exploded for 26 points and nine assists to power Indiana to a 95-91 victory in overtime.
Reese, for her part, tallied 15 points, 14 rebounds and six assists in the Dream’s loss. Making things more frustrating for her, she actually had the chance to win the game for Atlanta with a putback layup after a Rhyne Howard miss. Unfortunately, the All-Star forward also botched the potential game-winner.
Reese’s crucial miss went viral for a different reason, though. After regulation ended and the Dream star was expressing her disappointment alongside her teammates, Clark was seen in the background, seemingly turning toward Reese and smiling.

Now, in the latest episode of her “Post Moves” podcast with WNBA legend Candace Parker, Fever star Aliyah Boston addressed the moment.
Boston shared that she and the rest of the Fever didn’t see Clark’s reaction during the game, but when clips of the moment went viral, she knew it would spark controversy.
“We saw it after, but like in real time you see nothing,” Boston stated. “We saw it after and I was like, ”Here we go.’ Just like peace, love and happiness. We will never be free.”

Parker, for her part, found the whole thing “hilarious.” She went on to say that Clark probably created one of the funniest memes this season with her reaction.
Whatever the case may be, though, Clark and Boston have every reason to be happy since the miss allowed them to get the win against a really tough Dream team.
