What channel is UNC-Louisville basketball on Monday?

No. 16 North Carolina will take on the No. 21 Louisville Cardinals in a key ACC matchup at the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill.

The Tar Heels are coming off of a 77-64 win over Syracuse in a bounce-back game after its loss to NC State earlier in the week. It also marked the return of star big man Henri Veesaar who scored 19 points and had three blocks in his first game since Feb. 10. Seth Trimble ad Luka Bogavac both scored 13 points. Zayden High had nine points and a career-high 11 rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench.

Like UNC, Louisville is coming off a 1-1 week after losing to SMU in its midweek game and defeating Georgia Tech on Saturday. The Cardinals have one of the top offenses in the country, ranking 14th nationally in scoring offense (86.8 points per game), 21st in assists per game (17.8) and 21st in effective field-goal percentage (56.9).

North Carolina’s backcourt, criticized for its showing against NC State but revived in a win over Pitt, will be central to the matchup with Louisville.

Seth Trimble’s 13 second-half points, Luka Bogavac’s drives, Jonathan Powell’s transition 3s and Derek Dixon’s playmaking and defense showed growth for North Carolina’s backcourt in the win over Syracuse.

That unit now faces Louisville’s guards, among the best in the country, and UNC has struggled against top ACC backcourts. The Cardinals are led by freshman point guard Mikel Brown, who averages 18.6 points and nearly five assists while shooting efficiently from the field and from 3-point range. Wings Ryan Conwell and Isaac McKneely add perimeter scoring, while 6-foot-6 J’Vonne Headley and sixth man Adrian Wooley deepen a guard-driven attack that will test UNC.

This is a tough matchup to predict. For starters, both teams have had good seasons but up-and-down ones as well.

Both teams have been pretty bipolar. Louisville would win 118-77 over NC State but then lose to SMU a week later. North Carolina would completely shut down Duke’s but then get run out of the building by Miami.

However, UNC has been more consistent than Louisville in one aspect: winning against Top 25 teams. The Tar Heels are 4-1 against Top 25 teams while Louisville is 2-5 with three of those losses on the road. It should also be noted that Carolina has not lost a single game in the Dean Dome this season.

With Veesaar back in the lineup, UNC’s success against Top 25 opponents and home court advantage, I have the Heels winning by a small margin.

Prediction: UNC 80, Louisville 76

Spread Favorite: Louisville (-2.5)

Moneyline: Louisville (-148), North Carolina (+124)

Total: 162.5 points
