One of the most intriguing parts of the transfer portal is what is happening right now with Milan Momcilovic.

He's in the portal after shining at Iowa State, but he hasn't committed anywhere yet, because he's currently going through the NBA Draft process.

Only if Momcilovic pulls out of the draft will he remain in college basketball, so the schools recruiting him as a transfer pretty much have to wait and see if they'll end up with the player, if a rival will, or if he'll simply head to the professional ranks.

Momcilovic is a player worth waiting for, but it's still an oddly drawn out process for these schools to partake in.

At this point, it sounds like three schools are left:

  • Kentucky
  • Louisville
  • St. John's

That's what insider Jeff Goodman reported on Wednesday:

Momcilovic probably wouldn't stay in the draft unless he knew he was going to be a first-round pick.

If he comes back to college, he'll be a massive addition for one of those teams. He shot 49% from 3-point range on 7.5 attempts per game in 2025-26. There's no one else like him in college basketball.

Whether he is still in college basketball by next season simply remains to be seen.
