Nebraska (16-6, 5-6) started the month of February on the road at No. 12 Ohio State (20-3, 9-2) on Sunday night. The Huskers fell to the Buckeyes, 90-71, now standing at 0-5 on the season against top-25 teams.
Ohio State controlled the night, even with Nebraska's initial fight in the first half. But the Buckeyes blew their lead wide open in the third, going up 62-42 with under four minutes left in the quarter. Though the Huskers brought the deficit to four multiple times in the fourth, Ohio State took off in the end.
Nebraska ended up surrendering 21 fouls on the night, leading to the Buckeyes shooting 17-of-18 from the free-throw line. Jaloni Cambridge and Chance Gray especially did damage for Ohio State, combining for 51 points and shooting 17-of-29 from the floor. Cambridge led the way with 30 points, hitting 10-of-11 from the foul line. Gray, meanwhile, earned 21 points, landing 5-of-10 from beyond the arc.
The Buckeyes finished 31-of-60 in shooting, including 11-of-25 from three-point range. The team also delivered 33 points off 21 Nebraska turnovers. The Huskers hit just 28-of-69 from the floor, 8-of-26 from three-point range and 7-of-9 from the free throw line.
Amiah Hargrove tallied 24 points to lead Nebraska, shooting 10-of-19 from the floor and hauling in a team-high six rebounds, alongside Eliza Maupin, who finished 4-of-8 for eight points. Logan Nissley also shot 4-of-8, landing two from three-point range and hitting one free throw, earning her 11 points. Britt Prince scored 12 points and grabbed a team-high six assists and five rebounds.
The Huskers remain on the road, heading up to Ann Arbor to take on No. 9 Michigan Wednesday night. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT on B1G+.
