2026 College Basketball Rankings, Updated AP Top 25 After Week 15

Michigan is the new No. 1 in the latest AP Top 25 poll released Monday. The Wolverines haven’t sat at the top spot in 13 years, and they got there in a big way, pulling 60 of 61 first-place votes with a 24-1 record.

Arizona is the reason that door opened. The Wildcats came into last week unbeaten and left it with two losses, dropping at Kansas and then at home against Texas Tech.

Houston jumped to No. 2 and grabbed that last first-place vote, with Duke sliding into third.

Michigan and Duke are set to meet this weekend in Washington, D.C., in what should be a marquee nonconference game. Arizona fell to fourth. UConn, Iowa State, Purdue, Kansas, Nebraska, and Illinois round out the rest of the top ten.

Purdue made the biggest move of the week, jumping six spots to No. 7 after road wins at Nebraska and Iowa, including one in overtime. The Boilermakers have now won four in a row heading into Tuesday’s game against Michigan.

Texas Tech climbed three spots to No. 13 after beating Colorado at home and taking down Arizona in overtime.

Louisville also moved up three to No. 21, with freshman Mikel Brown leading the charge. Brown dropped an ACC freshman-record 45 points on N.C. State, then added 29 more in a win over Baylor.

Thirteen teams moved up overall. On the flip side, Michigan State and North Carolina each fell five spots, to No. 15 and No. 16. The Spartans lost at Wisconsin.

The Tar Heels dropped games at Miami and got more bad news with freshman Caleb Wilson set to miss time due to a fractured left hand. Seven ranked teams dropped overall.
